MiamiNightOut
had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing the Miami Heat
Dancers during one of their regular practices. After having
spent a few hours with them, we must tell you "first-hand"
that they are a very talented group of young women, who
are extremely friendly & fun loving. We encourage you
to take a look at each of the interviews to get to know
the faces behind the name.
We
thank the Organization for granting us the opportunity to
meet & interview such a fine group of young women.
Join
us this month (April 2002), as we dedicate the MiamiNightOut
website to the Miami Heat Dancers!!

The
Miami HEAT Dancers are in their 13th season as the centerpiece
of the HEAT's in-game entertainment. The dancers excite
and amaze the crowd with their high energy, fast paced routines.
Under
the new leadership of Choreographer and Director Janine
M. Thompson, HEAT fans will be dazzled this season by the
glitzy glamour of South Floridas most beautiful and
talented dancers. Known for her creativity, theme routines
and use of props, Janine is no stranger to the NBA, having
entertained South Florida basketball fans for six seasons
as a HEAT Dancer herself. For the past two seasons, WNBA
fans have also enjoyed Janines handiwork as director
of the Miami SOLs SOL Patrol, a co-ed group of gymnasts,
dancers and tumblers. Janines credits also include
her ongoing stint as director and choreographer of the University
of Miami Sunsations dance team (her alma mater)
and performances in Gloria Estefans video, Dont
Let This Moment End and Will Smiths popular
music video, Miami.
Besides
dancing in the arena and events the dancers have a philanthropic
attitude. They are involved in many charity events throughout
out the South Florida community. The dancers make frequent
visits to hospitals such as Joe Dimaggio's Children's hospital.
The dancers are a highlight at the annual Miami HEAT Family
Festival, which raises money for the Miami HEAT Charitable
Outreach Fund.
