ROBIN
MILLER, BETTER KNOWN AS DJ INFINITE, WAS BORN TO TWO NICARAGUAN
PARENTS IN MIAMI, FLORIDA ON JULY 28TH, 1982. HE LIVED
A CHILDHOOD WITH MANY STRUGGLES, BUT THESE HARDSHIPS ONLY
MADE HIM A STRONGER PERSON INSPIRING HIM TO SUCCEED. THROUGH
HIS STRUGGLES, MUSIC WAS ONE OF THE FEW THINGS THAT LIFTED
HIM OUT OF HIS MISERY. IN HIGH SCHOOL, HE MADE IT A GOAL
TO SHARE HIS JOY WITH OTHERS. HE STARTED OFF BY DJING
AT HIGH SCHOOL EVENTS AND FAMILY PARTIES. AS HIS PASSION
FOR DJING ESCALATED, HE STARTED TO RESEARCH VARIOUS DJs,
ARTISTS AND ASPECTS OF THE MUSIC INDUSTRY ON A DAILY BASIS
TO LEARN THE TACTICS TO SUCCEED. ONCE HE STARTED COLLEGE
AT FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY (FIU), HE INVESTED
IN HIS FIRST DJ SET AND BEGAN PRACTICING MORE TO PERFECT
HIS SKILLS. HE THEN WAS NOMINATED AS PRESIDENT OF FIU
NORTH'S STUDENT PROGRAMING COUNCIL, WHICH IS THE MAIN
ORGANIZATION ON CAMPUS, WHICH BOOKS ACTS TO PERFORM ON
CAMPUS. THROUGH HIS POSITION, HE WORKED WITH SUCH ARTISTS
AS BEENIE MAN, T-VICE, TANTO METRO AND DEVONTE, FLOETRY,
PITBULL, AND OTHERS. THIS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPOSURE PUSHED
HIM TO PURSUE THE MUSIC INDUSTRY AS HE CLAIMED THE NAME
DJ INFINITE. EVER SINCE, HE HAS BEEN TAKING MIAMI BY STORM
BY "MASHING UP THE PARTIES WITH THE ISLAND FLAVA."

Q
- How
did you get started in this business?
A - My
cousins and uncles used to DJ back in the day. I was 12
years old inside of nightclubs and parties just passing
records to them. I grew up loving music. From then on
I tried saving money to start purchasing my own system
and that is how it started.
Q
- What
projects are you currently involved with?
A - Right now I am
trying to put together a mix CD with the latest riddims
so that people can hear my style and the other members
of the Infinite Sound System. Also I got artists that
I am working with in regards to the CD, not like a record
label thing just trying to get people heard.
Q
- What
can your fans expect in the upcoming year?
A - As far as Infinite
goes we are trying to grow outside of South Florida and
at least journey the east coast like ATL, Northern Florida,
and try New York to get our name out. We are growing Haitians
and Nicaraguans in the dancehall reggae scene.
Q
- What
is your most memorable moment as a DJ?
A - Meeting
Beenie Man in a concert that I helped promote at Florida
International University. It was like meeting a cousin
that you havent met in years.
Q
- In
your opinion, what makes you stand out from others in
your field?
A - Infinite
Sounds is a rare grew of selectors none of us are Jamaican,
but we share Caribbean influences. We change it up when
go on stage. We dont keep our sound to only dancehall;
we play Zouk, Compa, Meringue, and country music just
to name a few. We try to be different, or unique.
Q
- Is
there anything about you people don't know that may surprise
them?
A - I
am the most boring person in the world! Watching paint
dry is more entertaining than hanging out with me.
Q
- If
you had to describe yourself in 3 words, how would you
do it?
A - Never
Giving Up
Q
- What
do you consider your best quality to be?
A - My
personality, I like to entertain people and keep spirits
high!
Q
- What
do you do for fun when you are not Djing?
A - Going
to parties! Most DJs I know dont even go to parties
but my fun is listening to other DJs and seeing how I
can better myself.
Q
- What
inspires you the most in life?
A - My
family and friends; they are the ones that want me to
achieve and I do this to make them proud.
Q
- What
is your favorite food?
A - Italian,
there aint nothing like Francos Pizzeria on
163rd St.
Q
- What
kind of kid were you growing up?
A - Shy,
that should have been my answer to that other question.
People dont believe that I am a real shy person,
real reserved.
Q
- Growing
up, what did you think you'd become?
A - A
farmer! I was never sure, my father used to get upset
because each time he would ask I would have another answer
for him.
Q
-
What advice would you give someone interested in
your field?
A - Dont
give up. A lot of people give up on this business because
of the money you have to shell out, but if it makes you
happy keep doing it the rewards will pay off. It just
amounts to the work that you put in it.
Q
- Any
