After the successful launch of the
SOTU Records web site, we sat down with the masterminds
behind SOTU, and interviewed them on what's in store for
music lovers everywhere.
Here's what they had to say.
Who
is behind SOTU Records and
how did it get started?
The main person behind the idea of Sounds of the
Underground is Obby Ledee.
The reason for this is that Obby would incorporate this
style into all his work by concentrating on selecting
the rarest and most intelligent sounds that the Electronic
Music Community had to offer. The Sounds of the Underground
concept had been around for about 5 years, making it's
presence known more and more everyday. But it wasn't until
Obby met Joey Andron
a couple of years ago that Sounds of the Underground officially
started taking form as both their music styles complemented
each other so well. Obby and Joey have always considered
their sounds unique from others music, and if you have
ever sampled one of their CD's then you would have to
agree. Sounds of the Underground was abbreviated to SOTU.....since
our sounds are basically unheard of from any other DJ's,
SOTU couldn't be a better name.
What
do you hope to achieve with the SOTU Records web site?
On our website we plan on raising the standard when it
comes to music. We propose on bringing the most ground
breaking sound to the surface of the Electronic Music
Culture. We will appeal to all Electronic Music Enthusiasts
by delivering the most invigorating sounds the Underground
is capable of delivering. Sounds of the Underground will
also have a merchandise page that will carry Full length
Mixed CD's, T-shirts, DJ bags, stickers, etc....Currently
we are wrapping up the necessary documentation to become
an Official record label.
In
your opinion, is there something that the South Florida
music scene lacks, that you hope to bring through with
SOTU Records?
What we think Miami is missing from the music scene
is, a change of style..We are going to inject our own
style into everyone's ears, minds, bodies, and souls.
We like the music here in Miami , but it's definitely
time for the change that we are about to bring.
What's
in the works at SOTU Records?
On July 12th we will be hosting The SOTU Official
Launch party @ Lola Bar. After that we will most likely
continue this trend every Friday. We are looking to attract
a local crowd that we can touch with our music.
Where
do you see SOTU Records
a year from now?
A year from now we see SOTU Records as an official
record label, releasing our first track.
There
you have it folks, to listen to their 'hits' and latest
sounds, be sure to regularly visit
SOTU Records.
