When
Subaru first introduced the Impreza into the states, avid
motorsports fans everywhere were excited to finally see
it breathe light into the States. However, the first generation
of the Impreza that hit the states weren't exactly what
some people expected. Subaru soon resolved that and brought
us the version that many enthusiasts desired.
Rob
Shaw is one of these enthusiasts that purchased the Subaru
in sights of modifying not only a fun car to drive, but
a nice car to stare at. Starting under the hood, where
everything's most important with this car, Rob upped the
intercooler with a GReddy Front Mount unit, a GReddy AirInx
Intake system, GReddy Type-S BOV, a PDE up-pipe and down-pipe,
and a IHI VF23 turbo upgrade. Electronically, the new
GReddy E-manage Piggy Back Fuel Computer controls the
systems while a series of gauges monitors the specs and
a Profec-B unit controls the boost. Miscellaneous articles
under the hood include a GReddy oil catch can, oil cap/radiator
cap, Carbon Fiber dress up pieces, and thermal-flex Intercooler
Hoses.
Aesthetically
speaking, Rob isn't shy of anything for a complete Scooby.
Rob opted for the Gracer front lip, STi Carbonfiber GT
Rear Wing, STi Front Grille, STi Foglight covers, JDM
projector headlamps w/ HID. A set of Alles-Create Griffin
Side Skirts and rear kit surround the rest of the body.
Ganador Side Mirrors along with a Carbon Fiber Hood are
subtle settings on this black Subaru.
On
the inside, Rob went with STi's precision units again:
STi seats, door sill plates, and shifter trim. Now any
show car would not be complete without in car electronics.
Rob picked out Clarion units to fulfill the electronics:
DRX9575Rz unit with monitor/tv, a DPH7500z EQ with a PS2
hooked up to the TV unit. MB Quart sounds off the components
with an Alpine V12/Phoenix Gold XS4600 supplying the power.
Last
but not least, the Subaru rides on Tein Type Flex Coilovers
with the new EDFC unit, which enables him to change the
dampening on all 4 corners with just the push of a button.
The suspension is rounded off with a Whiteline Anti-Lift
Kit. The car rolls on 18 x 7.5 Bronze Volk Racing SE-37A's
with a 13.1" F-40 Front Big Brake Upgrade behind
the front wheels. Check out the pictures of this hot ride
