As
the valet driver opens the car door and you stroll past
the large tiki torches, it's easy to forget you're in
the parking lot of a shopping center.
The
Caribbean music gently sways you in the front door where
a more-than-pleasant "tour guide" in a Hawaiian
shirt shows you a drink menu larger than the one for food.
You
are at Bahama Breeze, a Caribbean themed restaurant/bar
with an outside patio area. It is absolutely packed during
happy hour and a great place to meet people any night
of the week, but especially on Fridays and Saturdays.
There are bars both inside and out. Every day starting
at 5:00 pm, there is live island music at the outside
bar. The food, appetizers and frozen drinks are great.
Although there are no drink specials or an official 'Happy
Hour', their low drink prices and the use of premium brands,
keep locals as well as visitors coming back time after
time.
The place is noisily jumping, and the bartenders juggle
rum bottles. Plus, there's a fruity drink for every taste.
Although the menu aims to be Caribbean, the food is Americanized,
which is good if you like large portions. Try the 'Tostones
con Pollo' appetizer, crips plantains topped with spiced
chicken, mushrooms and cheese and lightly broiled, they
are just to die for.
