What Is Tantra? Tantra is generally referred to as the ancient Indian spiritual philosophy of conscious loving.

Why Tantra? Because we are living in a sensual and materialistic era. Because our senses and our desire drive us. And because Tantra is the only evolved spiritual discipline that uses our senses and our desires to achieve the goal of liberation.

Tantra teaches that the senses can be harnessed and used as a liberating energy, that they can be used as tools to help attain transcendental wisdom and enlightenment in this materialistic era, and that can be used to shortcut the process of spiritual evolution.

Tantra is a "sexual software," and a "software of love" that makes use of the senses in the pursuit of spiritual liberation. Tantra's most potent tools are the sense organs: the mind, plus the skin, the eyes, ears, tongue, and nose. Our most potent activity is the sexual act.

Tantra Restaurant incorporates the same basic beliefs of Tantra to their food, décor, and ambience. From the moment you walk through the doors, they have taken the time to provide a sensual environment that immediately enhances four of your five senses (smell, sight, touch, and hearing).

From the touch of the fresh cut grass under your feet to the smell of the incense or jasmine scented candles to the sound of our exotic, new age style music to the sight of Tantra's beautiful décor their goal is to enhance these four senses to the highest level possible. It is only at this time, when you use your fifth sense, taste, that you will experience the highest level of dining and achieve culinary ecstasy.

Tantra morphs from a fine dining restaurant to a pulsing dance club as the night wears on. But the food here has a different twist. The superb palette is a celebration of the Spice Route, of the waterway that, in time, brought together the most exotic flavors of two worlds: the East and West.

Thanks to Tantra's award-winning chef, plan to indulge in some of the most creative and beautiful main courses around, but the prices are far from cheap. This is definitely a special occasion restaurant. Order dishes with names like The French Kiss, featuring a sultry mix of Roquefort and lavender honey, or the tuna sashimi complete with wasabi-kiwi sorbet and wasabi crème fraiche. For the traditionalist, there's filet mignon, for the vegetarian, Moroccan Vegetable Tagine. If you've got room for dessert, the Black Chocolate Goddess it is simply to-die-for.

Tantra is an excellent place to hit the dance floor. Inside its soothing interior, the experience here is not-to-be-missed. Its sensual environment features fresh-cut grass floors, waterfalls and pipes you can smoke filled with Middle Eastern tobacco. Tantra's lengthy bar is custom made from mahogany and copper. But because this is a hotspot for Miami's beautiful people, expect to pay a hefty cover charge of $20 after 11 p.m. on weekends. There's no cover if you dine here, and if you want to come out and dance during the week, the cover charge drops to $10.
